In a nutshell
Scan to CAD and Scan to BIM are not standard products: model scope, accuracy and data structure are defined for the intended use.
We convert registered point clouds into structured 2D plans, CAD models, or BIM as-built models. Only agreed-upon building components are modeled and subsequently checked against the measurement data.
When is this topic relevant?
- Floor plans, sections and elevations for existing building planning
- BIM models for conversion, renovation and coordination
- Building services and plant models for technical planning
- As-built documentation for documentation and operation
What results can you expect?
- DWG and DXF drawings
- Revit existing models
- IFC exchange models
- PDF plans and documented model checks
What are the key factors when commissioning a service?
A usable model only emerges from a clear model goal. We agree on LOD/LOG, LOI, subject areas, tolerances, coordinates, and output formats before starting.
From need to usable data basis
| Step | What will be clarified? |
|---|---|
| Task 1 | Usage, areas, accuracy and result format |
| 2. Recording | Access, security, measurement method and spatial reference |
| 3. Preparation | Registration, testing, evaluation and modeling |
| 4. Handover | Data structure, quality control and instruction |

Frequently asked questions
What information do you need for a quote?
Helpful information includes the location, approximate size, any existing plans or photos, desired outcome, and timeframe. We will clarify any open technical points together.
How is the required accuracy determined?
Accuracy is derived from the intended use. Different requirements apply to an area overview than to plant connections or a detailed BIM model.
Can existing plans be incorporated?
Yes. Existing documents can serve for preparation, orientation, and supplementation. Deviations from the recorded data will be handled transparently.
In what formats is the data transferred?
Depending on the project, we deliver formats including E57, RCP/RCS, LAS/LAZ, DWG, DXF, Revit, IFC, and PDF. The target format is agreed upon before the project begins.
