3D laser scanning for retail and store locations

Inventory data for renovation, shop fitting and branch planning

We capture retail stores and sales areas using 3D laser scanning – for renovations, new store design, store concepts and the documentation of multiple branch locations.

Planning within existing buildings

Why retailers rely on digital inventory data

Retail spaces change frequently – due to new tenants, renovations, or evolving store concepts. Existing plans often no longer accurately reflect the current situation.

3D laser scanning captures sales areas, facades, ceiling heights, and technical installations contactlessly and with high accuracy. The data is available as a point cloud, 2D as-built plan, or CAD model – providing a reliable basis for shopfitters, architects, and brand managers.

Your time frame is crucial. We plan to carry out the data collection outside of opening hours or during short renovation breaks so that sales operations are not disrupted.

Typical starting situations

When it's worthwhile to map your sales area

Whether it's a renovation, new shop fittings or a store rollout – up-to-date inventory data forms the basis for your planning.

01

Renovation & New Furnishing

Record sales area for a new store concept or new furnishing.

02

Change of tenants

Document the inventory when transitioning to a new tenant or a new brand concept.

03

Store rollout

Record multiple branch locations uniformly and comparably.

04

Shop window & facade

Record facade geometry for new shop window or outdoor advertising.

Spatial survey of sales area, facade and technical installations

Scope of recording

What will be recorded for your area?

The scope depends on your store concept and the specifications of your shopfitter or architect.

  • Sales area and floor plan
  • Ceiling heights and beams
  • facade and shop window front
  • Storage and staff areas
  • Technical rooms and connections
  • Existing shop fittings
  • Entrances and escape routes
  • Visible pipes and installations

Frequently asked questions

Questions about laser scanning for retail stores and shops

Can scanning be done outside of opening hours?

Yes, that's the norm. We usually schedule the data collection in the evenings, at night, or on our days off so as not to disrupt sales operations.

How long does it take to register a retail store?

This depends on the size of the area and the level of detail required. Many locations can be mapped within a few hours, larger ones or multiple branches will take correspondingly longer.

Can multiple branch locations be recorded uniformly?

Yes. For chain stores and brand concepts, we agree on the scope and output format once and apply them across all locations.

Which file formats can be provided?

Typical formats include E57, RCP/RCS, DWG, IFC, and STEP. We will coordinate other formats with your shopfitter or architect.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

Helpful information includes the location, approximate sales area, planning objective, timeframe, and any existing plans or photos. We will clarify any open questions in a personal meeting.

How are confidential store concepts handled?

We will coordinate project access and data sharing. Confidentiality agreements and brand-specific security requirements can be taken into account.
